North Chicago public school district hires food service company whose COO is an RU grad

OrganicLife LLC has recently signed a contract with District 187, a north Chicago public school district, for a reported $1.26 million. OrganicLife’s COO, Justin Rolls (BSHTM, ’02, EXCT, ’05, BS, 02), is a graduate of Roosevelt’s hospitality program, which is part of  Evelyn T. Stone College of Professional Studies. As reported by the Lake County News-Sun, this move signals a “growing national interest in school lunch reform.” Rolls’ is pithily quotes as saying, “We’re just a bunch of restaurant guys who didn’t know a whole lot about school food service except we didn’t like the food we ate in school…We look at kids as our customers.”
