Roosevelt alum are encouraged and invited to attend The African National Congress at 100: Reflections on its Democratic Vision in South Africa and Beyond, an event in recognition and celebration of the 100th anniversary of the African National Congress (ANC). This event will feature a panel discussion with:
- Esteemed Roosevelt alumnus Dr. Charles V. Hamilton (BA, ’51), retired Columbia University professor of political science.
- Dr. Harold Rogers, Chairman of the African American Studies Department at Olive-Harvey College
- Dr. Heather Dalmage, Roosevelt professor of Sociology and Director of the Mansfield Institute for Social Justice and Transformation.
These three scholars will discuss the history of the ANC, its long struggle against racism and oppression under the system of apartheid, and contemporary issues within the new democracy.
